Causes Solution / Workaround Fixed in version /date

On some older versions of Windows (95/98/ME) the following error occurs when Winuscon is closed:

"fatal exception 0E at 0028:C02A27A8
in VXD VWIN32(05) + 000012D0"

On some Windows 95/98/ME there is an old Shell32.dll installed. Probably caused by an update from Explorer 4 to 5/6 without a complete un-install first.

We will try to take out of Winuscon the erroneous calls to this library.
Since the market share of Windows 2000/XP is already 70/80 percent in some countries we strongly advice to upgrade to these version since we cannot get any updates or patches very soon for these previous versions.

Winuscon 2.0 (Shareware at $25,00) version - to be released in two versions in 2004- will support Windows 95/98/ME and Windows 2000/XP.

Winuscon 1.56 now supports Windows on many - not all though - 95,98 and ME again. We decided not to wait until version 2.0, which will be released later this year as shareware. If you run into any problems on these old systems, please let us know.

After initializing MS Outlook on the
Office panel Winuscon sometimes
cannot be closed.

The Outlook program hangs and consequently Winuscon cannot be closed. Most of the time in combination with an anti-virus program.
