Q1. How can I show only certain files in a menu panel? Like the most Recent MS Word docs only.

A1. The Menu/Recent panel can display any type of file you want. To display recent Office files set the filter on the Settings/Menu panel to *.doc.lnk;*.xls.lnk;*.ppt.lnk. 
Let´s say you are busy with a certain client and want to get back quickly to those files. All files concerning that client begin with Peterson. Examples: Peterson_proposal.doc, Peterson_calculations.xls etc. 
Now set the filter to: Peterson*.*.lnk for the Menu/Recent panel to show only recent Peterson files.
Because the Menu/Recent panel uses links (.lnk) extension you have to use this slideley different filefilter.
For the other panels you can use normal filters like '*.doc;*.xls'. 

 Q2. Not all the Special folders are visible on my computer?

 A2. Not every Window version support every Special Folders available. Windows 2000 and XP support the most. If your system does not support a certain Special Folder you can 'hard code' the path to that Folder instead.

Q1. Importing a LDAP result as a VCard does not always copy the values to the correct fields?

A1. Not every LDAP server sticks to the international agreed format. So sometimes after an import using the VCARD button you have correct the result a bit.

Q2. BigFoot and WhoWhere servers not available?

A2. That is correct and there is no information about the fact if these servers will be online again. Probably never, because of the abuse by spammers. The user information is available on their sites however. 

Q3. Sometimes the Translation of an Internet page is not complete?

A3. Many Internet pages contain graphics with text. The text in those graphics can NOT be translated. 

Q4. When a new window is supposed to be opened, I can not see it.

A4. Because the Multi Browser uses four panels, new windows are opened in another panel. Click on the Quattro Stagione button to see all panels.

Q5. Not all Google Search commands are visible?

A5. You have to download the latest "googlecommands.txt" file from our site and save them in Winuscon. Click here to get some more information.

Q1. How can I speed up the Trace Route utility?

A1. When you switch off Resolve Addresses the IP-address does not have to be looked up for every node, saving quite a lot of time.

Q1. When I click on the SMS or Office panel I can wait for ever!!!

A1. There is no support for MS Outlook and Exchange Server. Winuscon 2.0 Shareware (medio 2004) will support that as well.

Q2. Is there a limit to the amount of prefab HTML-mail templates? 

A2. No. You can use as many as you like. For the receiver´s sake do not make them too fancy.

Q3. I cannot view Word documents the MessageBody preview panel. Nor can I see the Office documents in the Browser of the filemanager. I am using Office XP. 

A3. Step I. The first time you try to open an Office document in the MSIE Explorer (Winuscon is using the MSIE as a Browserpanel) you see the popup shown below. Uncheck the "Always ask before opening this type of file" and click on the Open-button.

Step II. If the Office document is opened in Word itself instead of in the Browser panel, then open from the Start Menu the Control Panel (under the Settings menuitem) and click on the Folder Options icon. Next select the Filetypes tab and search for the .doc extension and click on the Advanced button. The window shown below will popup. UnCheck "Confirm open after download" and Checkmark "Browse in same window". Finally press the OK-button.

Q1. Some graphic types are not visible in the Image panel of the Filemanager?

A1. This version of Winuscon does not support all graphics. Use the Browser panel instead. The next edtion of Winuscon will support over 60 different graphic types.

Q2. The Folder Viewer utility does not show the Edit Time of Excel Sheets, only Word and Powerpoint Edit times are correctly displayed?

A2. Thats right´. We do not know why Excel Sheets have this omission. You can check this out within Excel itself and look at the File/Properties/Statictics of a Sheet. There is no show Edit Time either?!?! 

Q3. The Date/Time Events and World Time do not display the correct time 

A3. You must set the Latitude and Longitude to your local settings first. Use the lookup link on the Accessories /DateTime panel to look them up.

Q4. When using the Windows Console utility a connection to the Internet is being made.

A4. That is correct and is the way Touch22 Software & Consulting developed this ActiveX component. When you are using a LAN/Cable/ADSL connection to the Internet you probably did not even notice this behavior. Users still using Dialup connections can cancel the connection being made. The software remains fully functional.

Q5. When using the Windows Console how can I switch on autoscroll?

A5. This only works on Windows 2000/XP machines. Click on the last line in the Output panel and press enter, only once. Now autoscroll is on.

 A1. No. You do not have to restart the program. Sometimes on slow computers it will take a while but it will work.
